Last Friday, Virginia Beach-based Double Tap Military Surplus reopened its doors to the public, and held a Grand Reopening celebration, with refreshments, Military charities in attendance, giveaways, and more.
The official opening took place at 1000, with owner Eric Anas kicking it off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new retail space is around 2000 sq. ft., roughly double the size of the previous space. It features a full inventory of products from around 30 brands, along with a robust selection of Military surplus including packs, equipment, and clothing.
Here you can see more photos of the showroom.
The floor is decorated with a non skid overview of an aircraft carrier.
Featured throughout the retail space are various kitted-up manikins which add a bit of flair to the shop.
Here you can see their very robust patch wall, with hundreds of patches from various manufacturers.
Even the restroom is decked out in a Military theme.
Additionally, Double Tap hosted a barbeque lunch, with a name-your-price model. The funds raised from the lunch were donated to four Military charities: Wounded Wear, All In All The Time Foundation, the USO, and Freedom Hunters. Wounded Wear and Freedom Hunters were also in attendance at the Reopening event.

This puts any other surplus store I have seen to shame.
Nonskid? That just gave me a COMNAVSURFrection
knowledgeable, well-stocked, ships quick, great customer service, 10/10 would buy again.
Eric is a combat veteran, he was my 240 in our last tour of Iraq. His shop is extremely well done and staffed with some very knowledgeable and courteous people. They really go out of their way to make your experience as pleasant as possible. I’ve since moved out of state but make a point to stop by every time I’m back in the area and I’ve made several purchases from him.
10/10, very highly recommend.
Gotta love the gas mask in the restroom.
Could of used that this mornin!
Very cool, I gotta meet this cat, he’s got awesome taste!

SSD, if you need a new project… it would be super cool if your site had some sort of directory of cool stores like this, so whenever one goes to a new AO, they can check here and see where to go spend some money on gear.
+1 Great Idea
A soldier systems map?
Sounds like a great idea!
Wow, looks like a great shop. There’s so much to do in VA Beach. I need to head down there whenever I get back stateside. It’s like the number one place to get second hand NSW items also, heh
