Parachuting Beavers!

We’re not making this up. During the late 1940s, the Idaho Fish and Game Department faced an issue with too many beavers in the wrong areas so they took to moving them; going so far as to use surplus parachutes to insert them into their new homes. All in all, they moved 76 beavers in pairs and lost just one in the process.

This is awesome. I bet there were some recently discharged paratroopers, that became fish & game employees that came up with the idea. I’m going to propose it for my organization but with the black bears.

There was a rumor (false) that the DNR in my state was dropping timber rattlers into our area – they are endangered and would halt timber harvesting and any other development, legally and psychologically.
