It’s weird how different things hit you emotionally. I have had only a few interactions with her. Several hugs as I hopped on a bird. Just reading this made my eyes water a little. I wish her the best and thank her for giving so much to all of us deploying. I guess I didn’t realize how much it meant to me until now sadly.

I was fortunate enough to be able to see my son off and greet him on the return for both of his deployments to Afghanistan, but there were plenty of boys & girls who had no family there…every unit should have a hug lady…
