Been had multiple times myself back when I was the Coy FNG
EG – grid squares refer to the lines used to subdivide a map sheet – this makes navigation, target location, etc. easier. They are lines on a map, so you can’t really have a box of them; that does not prevent soldiers from sending the new guy to pick up a box from supply.
See also, case of giglines, gallon of headlight fluid, keys to the dropzone.
A Sgt with too much time on his hands printed off a label for “IR-Reflective Paint” and put it on a 5 gallon bucket of water, then got the new guys to don masks and goggles and ‘paint’ the trucks.
When we ran out he took the empty bucket and filled it from the tap right in front of us.
Despite numerous requests supply has yet to get back to me about a BFA for the Carl G.
I do that & the breech-block for the Carl G also, or machine gun gas. A guy on my basic was told to find the crse Warrent & tell him he was volunteering for butt party on the grenade range. We didn’t know what it was but we knew it was bad.
My favorite is a can of squelch. Especially if it was needed to fix the PRC (Prick) E8.
and while you are getting that box of grid squares grab me some chem light refill juice
Stoked to get a mention on soldiersystems! We’ve added a few more designs to our primary website (Commo Daddy’s Original Can of Squelch and Uncle Sam’s Peace Pills) and are narrowing our offerings to premium t-shirts produced 100% in the USA.
