Mark Baker – Cartoonist and Comic Genius

Mark Baker is an Army Retiree.  We served together in the MI Det at 2nd Bn, 3rd SFG(A) when he started working on the Private Murphy strip which you may remember from the Army Times.  This is one of my favorite cartoons.

Mark, wherever you are, I salute you.

  1. The wi-fi’s down?? What the hell chief?!?

  2. Logan says:

Great cartoon. But it makes it seem like Rangers are less elite than SF, when in actuality they just have different jobs. To be more accurate, the Green Beret should be saying what the Ranger said but in Dari, Vietnamese, or some other foreign language.

  3. 96C says:

This has been around for maybe 10-15 years so don’t get too offended…

  4. LowSpeed says:

I sense someone somewhere is experiencing maximum rustling of their jimmies.

The original was the top 4 frames, existed in 1998, I first saw it during the 18B course hanging above the urinals in the Bravo committee latrine.

I’d wager the WiFi part was added later.

    • ‘Cable’ Jon, it’s us young’uns who don’t know how good we’ve got it that have wireless internet out on the airfields in sandy places 😉

See, I’m so fucking old I can’t even read correctly anymore!!!

Yeah, that makes sense, was probably being distracted by my kiddo about WiFi when posting this. I still remember it being 4 frames, may have just been how it was cut out.
