Participated in an exercise in Wedryzn in 1995. Got a haircut that cost 10 zlotys (50 cents). The barber took my picture and put it up on the bulletin board next to other photos of soldier haircuts…all Russians!
Earned my Polish jump wings on the Wedryzn DZ. The place is probably a lot nicer than when I was there. Polish Army “MRE’s” had a juice-box and a sausage in them.
The rifle is WKW Tor, 12,7×99, made in my hometown 🙂
It is an interesting looking rifle, with the really small bolt. I’d never heard of or seen one before.
