Yep, more than a few times. I think turkey just tastes better out of a marmite especially when it’s raining.
Yep. NTC in 1986 and Afghanistan in 2010.
Two years out of twenty – not bad. Perhaps the only demonstrations of brotherhood and teamwork were the Thanksgivings when I was a Private, where an NCO came to the barracks and scooped me up to bring me to their home for the meal.

Thats an interesting photo, obviously a Vietnam combat zone but would soldiers today be allowed to eat chow with slung rifles even on the hot zones of Afganistan?
As long as someone has their back and sentries are out I’m not seeing the same problem you are. Unless I’m missing something.
