I received an email earlier today and I don’t have the answer. Unfortunately, I am unfamiliar with the recipe, so I thought it best to crowdsource the answer.
So what do you guys think? Is it condensed milk, or sweetened condensed milk?

When it calls for condensed milk it’s the regular condensed milk which is sweetened. In some countries evaporated milk is called unsweetened condense milk but the consistency between them are different. Also, the cheesecake depends on the sugar content in condensed milk to give it the sweetness required since sugar isn’t mentioned in the recipe.
“Condensed milk is cow’s milk from which water has been removed. It is most often found in the form of sweetened condensed milk, with sugar added, and the two terms “condensed milk” and “sweetened condensed milk” are often used synonymously today.More at Wikipedia”. If it didn’t have any sugar it would taste like crap.
Hi I’m the cofounder and coowner of Alpha Coffee – previously Lock-n-Load Java.
I was one of the cooks on the 37 Cooks blog where the recipe you mentioned came from and I know the gal who came up with the recipe when we were doing a number of coffee related recipes and we donated the coffee to the 37 Cooks to come up with these delicious recipes.
This one used our decaf blend ground very fine (Turkish or espresso grind) and as several people have noted, it is sweetened condensed milk.
Although my husband regularly mutters Death Before Decaf – lol – we have a delicious decaf blend (Warrior Select Decaf) at http://www.alpha.coffee
Hope you enjoy the cheesecake!
Condensed Milk.
That’s what the original recipe calls for, anyway.
how does this possibly find its way into your mailbox bro?
Sweetened BUT watch the temp or it will caramelize…
Another vote for Condensed Milk.

Happy Birthday to your granddaughter!

If there’s no sugar in the recipe, it’s cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and maybe some eggs in addition to whatever else the recipe calls for.
