You Never Know Where They’ll Show Up

This is my friend Mike D’s carbine. I know you’re going to ask about it, so here’s some background.

Daniel Defense SOPMOD M4 Upper mounted to Colt M4 Lower and festooned with drool worthy accoutrements.

Primarily, the SOCOM contract Vortex Razor HD GEN II 1-6x24mm w/ MRAD reticle and zero stops cradled in a purpose built SOPMOD Geissele Mount and topped with a Reptilia ROF 90 Mount w/RMR.

Colt M4 lower and Daniel Defense SOPMOD upper with the following:

B5 Systems SOPMOD Butt Stock
215 Gear GPS pouch
MAGPUL Trigger Guard
MAGPUL MIAD Grip
Gas Buster Charging Handle
KAC Micro Rear BUIS
KNS Anti Walk Pins
Geissele SSA Trigger
Shooters Source Mag Well
Geissele SOPMOD Vortex Razor Mount
Contract Vortex Razor HD Gen II 1-6 w/MRAD Reticle
Reptilia ROF 90 Mount
Trijicon RMR
MAWL C1+
Surefire V series Scout Light
Unity Tactical Fusion Micro Hub w/ Front Sight & Offset Rail.
Princeton Tec Switch Rail Task Light
MAGPUL AFG
Surefire War Comp

You’ll notice he’s using the new Reptilia ROF 90 Mount. He had some notes on his impression of the mount.

Why Geissele did not make this prior to Reptilia is beyond me.

The Reptilia Mount provides an added capability to the optics suite by integrating a secondary optic which can be rapidly employed by the shooter.

Initial impressions were that the ROF mount could be 1/8” or so higher, but after firing the platform out to 600m, the elevation turrets when adjusted for range, did not occlude the RMR.

Where else would you recommend relocating an aiming laser whose controls are based a thumb over barrel grip?

What’s the difference between the socom contract razor and a commercial razor?

I know of this Mike D Fellow, of course he will have the tools he needs…
We were in a seedy bar on the Malay peninsula Awaiting the arrival of some corrupt local officials who wanted our heads on a platter.
In need of a diversion, he disassembled the plumbing in the kitchen with what he had in his pockets. flooded the entire place, we exited out the back in the confusion. The man is a master of his craft I tell you!
