    I was in high school watching this as it happened. This was why I joined.

    My first thoughts were of horror, fear and anger.

    My after thoughts were of the people waking up like any other day. Getting ready, having coffee, sending kids to school. They commute to work, check in and sit at their desks, work stations. Chat with co-workers about last nights TV shows, a movie they saw, a new place to eat they tried….then they were evaporated in the blink of an eye.

    No one who perished that day ever thought, “Today a plane will crash through this building and kill us all”

    These are the thoughts that I wrestle with because I now ask myself, “What will be next?” In part it’s kept me from enjoying many things as I now avoid large crowds and events, and that ticks me off.

    14 years now…It’s odd because that image seeing the first tower getting hit is etched in my mind. My wife cried, I raced to my kids school and picked them up. We sat all day and watched it unfold and my little son could not understand why people would do this to other people. He is 25 years old now.

    We all share some part of this.
