From the ages of 17 to 28 I served as a Soldier in the United States Army, the finest ground fighting force the world has ever known.

Happy birthday my brothers and sisters in arms!
Ten companies of riflemen were authorized by a resolution of the Continental Congress on June 14, 1775. The Army is the most egalitarian of all the nation’s services. It has carried the majority of the burden in all its wars. Eight of every ten who have made the supreme sacrifice for our nation were Soldiers. It continues the tradition of selfless service born in the cold snows of Valley Forge today in the mountains of the Hindu Kush, over two centuries of faithful and often forgotten service.
Today marks 237 years of sticking the bayonet between the enemy’s 2nd & 3rd rib and not looking for any special credit. Happy Birthday!

Well said. You managed to recognize the Army without belittling the other branches of service.
I also served in the US Air Force and my daughter currently serves in the US Navy. My extended family has served in every branch and we are proud to each have served in our own ways. None is better than another. Each brings a unique piece to form a whole.
