   the question that comes to mind anytime i see statistics like these are “how are they defining ‘machine gun’?”

   Sounds about right, I’m sure the few I own are included in the count but keep in mind there are quite a few developers of both accessories and alternative (special use) ammunition within the state. It isn’t glamorous but you can’t make a good product without testing it on the real thing a heck of a lot and trust me, when you turn it over to the DOD they will do everything you did and then get creative. The scary kind of creative.

   A machine gun is defined as any weapon that will repeatedly fire more than one shot with a single pull of the trigger according to federal law. Florida is 2nd and California is 3rd.

   Keep in mind that our process for having CLEO’s signing off on Form 4’s has been EASIER since the advent of PRO GUN CHIEFS through elections, and appointings by PRO GUN Supervisors, and mayors. Along with there being MANY “Incorporated” citizens to make the process easier without needing CLEO’s.

   We here in the Commonwealth should not be alone in this. My question isn’t “Why does Va have 30K+ machine guns?” but “Why isn’t your state letting you be a free citizen to own what you want to own?”

   Remember that November 6th.

    Remember, the NRA is located in VA. They have one of the, if not the, largest collection of privately owned firearms, including ‘machine guns’ in the country. All those old BAR’s, Thompson’s, etc.

    That can’t explain everything, but it probably makes up a little bit of that. I guess Virginians still have that revolutionary spark!

    Shep good point on the NRA collection – but I would be willing to bet the NRA machine gun collection isn’t even in the top ten in this country

    Obviously I can’t provide details but there are collections in private hands ( outside of the Gov’t ) in this country that are beyond belief -I have had the distinct pleasure of examining a few of them- impressive to say the least
