H&K Releases MR762A1 Long Rifle Package (LRP)

At this year’s SHOT Show H&K is releasing what is essentially an American version of the G28 we wrote about last SHOT Show. The G28 is in turn an accurized version of the H&K 417 used as a gas-piston driven precision rifle by German troops.

HK 762A1 LRP

To produce the MR762A1 Long Rifle Package (LRP) they’ve an standard MR762A1 (caliber 7.62 x 51 mm NATO) semi-automatic rifle and added optics and accessories. To be exact, the Leupold 3-9VX-R Patrol 3-9 x 40 mm scope and mount, HK G28 adjustable cheekpiece buttstock, and LaRue Tactical BRM-S bipod.

The MR762A1 LRP features a Heckler & Koch produced Cold Hammer Forged barrel which is manufactured in Germany and finished in the USA and well known to minimize the degradation of accuracy and muzzle velocity after prolonged use.

Additional accessories and add-ons for the LRP variant of the MR762A1 include an ERGO Pistol Grip from Falcon Industries, the same Blue Force Gear sling used on the HK M27 IAR supplied to the USMC, and an OTIS cleaning kit. The rifle package, complete with one 20 and one 10-round magazine is shipped ready to use with the scope attached in a compact 42-inch Model 1720 Pelican case.

HK better wake up….LWRC is cutting into their assault weapons sales BIG TIME…LWRC has better cutomer service, better product, better price

LMAO.. Oh really? Then Sir, prey tell and enlighten us to how “superior” LWRC is to the HK. Obviously those Marines didn’t know what they were doing when they selected HK OVER LWRC for the M27 program lol. Yeah, those Marines and all their silly REQUIREMENTS for accuracy, durability and reliability. Their standards are obviously too high.

Choose your response wisely lest you desire LWRC’s skeletons from that evolution be dragged into the light…. AGAIN.

Ahhhh that was the funniest thing I read all day

You obviously have no idea how government contracts are handled.

Hopefully you don’t think that HK’s are the end all be all of firearms? In addition to performance, accurancy, etc… there are production volume requirements, armorer training requirements, replacement parts for a specific period etc. Once you get through ALL of that, the contract goes to the LOWEST bidder.

The military doesn’t use the best, they use the cheapest that will meet their requirements…. MORON.

Sort of a disappointing optic choice given the cost of the base rifle.

  3. Paul says:

LOL, HK has won every single time they have gone up against LWRC. Anything else is pure BS.

  4. Angry Misha says:

My only issues on this rig asside from the optic choice (BTW I love Leupold and have had zero problems with them on deployment) are that it doesn’t have the extended rail or adjustable gas system. Personally, I’d like a 20″ barrel option

Think the new scope is in the Mark 5 lineup. Might be higher quality then the Mark 4 stuff. Can’t find anything on it yet.
