For those of you who aren’t aware, there is an Airborne & Special Operations Museum located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. That chestrig, is it the grandfather of the Eagle Universal Chestrig?

I really think they should’ve put beards on those early OEF Special forces mannequins, I mean, they’re wearing pakols, and clean shaven faces were not advised during those operations. XD

Also, was the medical supplies photo a part of the BHD exhibit that shows what they didn’t have back then for combat first aid?

Amazing! Haven’t been there since it first opened. I really appreciate the detail the curators put into this. I”ll be sure to visit again.

Been there a number of times. There are also memorials to ARSOF/Airborne units and individuals outside. It is really worth your time to go.

I might be visiting NC later this year. Looking at these pics means I must add a day for a visit. Big Thanks for posting.

Whats up with that Darth Vader looking Republican Guard helmet!? lol

Can someone please explain the significance of Capt. Mike to me? There’s a plaque with the name under the mannequin wearing ACU’s and an interceptor vest. That makes me think its based on a historical figure rather than just showcasing the equipment used in that era.

I googled “Capt. Mike 16th MP brigade” but all I got were articles about various captains with the first name “Michael”.

  16. Bman says:

Ive been wanting to go there for some time now. It certainly looks a lot bigger than the UDT/SEAL museum is…

  17. chris says:

I’m very disappointed that there is a picture of a Nazi sniper exhibit, but not one of COL James “Nick” Rowe’s exhibit. Wait, sorry, two pictures.

  18. Ironmnky says:

Great place; they should really give credit to the enablers that made things happen in some of those exhibits though(modern). Oh it’s an Army museum…. got it.

What’s the story behind the medical gear in picture #117?
