SIG SAUER - Never Settle

Gunfighter Moment – Larry Vickers

Support the National Rifle Association – I can’t make it any plainer than that.

My trip to South Africa reminded me once again how fortunate we are to have not only the 2A but the means to defend it, meaning a strong NRA. Straight up, the NRA isn’t perfect and I would definitely do some things differently if I were in charge, but it is our number one instrument in fighting the anti gunners. I’m a Benefactor life member and have been for years – I urge you to support the NRA and encourage others to do the same.

Stand together or we will hang separately.

History has taught us that for certain.

Why is it, that the man has to look that grumpy?

For those unaware, if you make purchases through amazon smile, rather than regular amazon, you can set it up so that amazon makes a donation to the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund with each purchase you make.

What is the current state of gun laws in South Africa?

While I am an avid 2A supporter, I can’t do so at the expense of those who walk all over the rest of the Constitution. The NRA supports the likes of Harry Reid & helps them get elected. Not OK.

    • My Lying Eyes says:

The NRA is a single issue organization that supports the incumbent so long as the incumbent supports 2nd amendment. That is how it maintains its influence. It is simple. They are not the Republican Party. They have a single issue. That is why it works so well. If you do not support the NRA because it supported Reid at one time, but not any more, and if enough people think like you, you will all probably get what you deserve. You and Biden can go shoot over and unders together.

      • TominVA says:

I debated joining the NRA way back, but Bush Sr’s resignation woke me up to their tone and tactics. I didn’t join.

Nothing wrong with being a single issue organization, but the NRA, to its own detriment and ours as gun owners, has take a single issue and morphed it into a single solution mindset for society’s ills. School shootings? Buy more guns. Obamacare? Buy more guns. GM recall? Buy more guns.

So I’ll agree with Larry that it is most certainly NOT a perfect organization. The NRA needs to ditch the camo, abandon the paranoia, and return to being the voice of responsible gun ownership.

        • SSD says:

Tom, your idea of a responsible gun owner is one that doesn’t actually own any.

          • Terry B says:

            TominVA,

What SSD said. That’s also the impression I got from you the last time we were on this subject.

I don’t see any reason to believe that somehow “rebooting” the NRA as you suggest will win over any of the anti-gunner crowd.

From what I have seen, many believe – as a matter of faith – that the only way to be “responsible” is to turn your guns in and to shun those who don’t.

I assure you I’m not driven by paranoia and I don’t think the “guvment” is poised to come take my guns. That’s not the point.

The Constitution “tasks” five entities with specific duties and responsibilities in order to distribute power and act as checks and counter-balances upon each other.

We all know the three Branches of the Federal Government: Executive, Legislative and Judicial. But the other two are the States and the individual Citizen.

So as citizens of this Republic you and I have responsibilities and the 2nd Amendment articulates just one duty we can freely accept. I do.

Not in opposition to the Rule of Law or our Government but in support of the Constitutional framework.

As I see it, being prepared to participate in the defense of myself, my community, my country and the entirety of the Constitution – with deadly force if necessary – is what the 2nd Amendment is really about.

The Founders clearly believed that wide spread private gun ownership was the best means to ensure that the citizen would be empowered to do his or her part if the need arose. I happen to agree.

            rant over.

          • TominVA says:

I own several. Nope, that’s not it.

      • SShink says:

        Single issue, huh?
I live in upstate NY, so I live the effects of gun control. I also work for a gun company. If anyone is opposed to gun control, it’s me. Problem is, I’m also opposed to same sex marriage, abortion, alien amnesty, excessive social programs, etc….and I am most certainly NOT a republican.
Supporting anyone just because they stand for gun rights even though they embrace everything ELSE that I stand against just sounds like a bad exchange. The other amendments are equally as important as 2A. That’s why I can’t consciously support the NRA.

  5. Uncle Dan says:

Apparently some of you buy Big Media’s spin.

Been a Lifer since ’05. Only org backing 2nd Amendment.

1st Amendment (press) backers are bought & paid for by Barry O’s handlers. Jine the NRA or prepare to be a subject under NWO.

  6. Uncle Dan says:

In other words, do as LAV suggests.

  7. Desert Lizard says:

Totally agree with Vickers. No organization represents me perfectly, but the NRA is very effective and zealous for our 2A right. I’ve been an Endowment Member since ’07 and I continue my support for it, financially and civically.

  8. Kaos-1 says:

To many “compromises” with the NRA. Like their support of “gun free school zones”, or how about their support of H.R. 2640 (veterans disarmament act) . Gun owners of America is a “no compromise” lobby. Screw the NRA and join the GOA !!!!

    • FormerActionGuy says:

Sorry Kaos. GOA doesn’t have the muscle, clout, or deep pockets to defend the 2A like the NRA does. They aren’t perfect, but they are better than the alternative.

…but they would if the NRA devotees wised up and made the switch OR joined both.

  9. Ed says:

NRA, GOA, SAF – each has their own unique way of supporting the Second Amendment and all deserve your support.

  10. Reverend says:

Don’t stop with the NRA, GOA has pushed for “Shall Issue” carry laws in D.C., and IL just to get them to STOP the push for a police state. And join your STATE Pro-Gun organizations!

NRA, and GOA are awesome, but they do nothing for you LOCALLY!
