Posted some light criticism on their facebook page and they banned me. Guess they don’t take criticism very well.

Their prices are astronomical for basically nothing. They tried to tell me that the PICO has soft armor in it for the stock price, which it doesn’t. The PICO is nothing special. It doesn’t do anything particular well, and it’s no more modular than even an LBT 6094, and industry staple that has done the same thing for a decade or more, yet it costs three times as much. What are they charging for? Their PV Material that they are so proud of?

I have a Tyr Low Profile Brokos Belt. It is a fantastic product, well finished, very light, yet rigid. I like it. I will probably stand by it, even though it was 150 USD for essentially the same thing as a VTAC Brokos, except with their PV material.

The only people I have seen rocking Tyr PICOs are pretentious dudes with too much money, and their own staff. I find it hard to believe that they can sell any of them at all, especially with competition like Crye and Firstspear and government surplus options.

It’s because most of their sales are to government customers, both here and abroad. Governments do not pay the retail pricing you do.

Nobody really wants to hear someone come in and tell them that their products suck, especially someone who isn’t going to buy it. It’s worse when someone says things that aren’t true, like suggesting that no one uses their products.

Darrel-they have the least technically informative website I’ve ever seen. That being said I’ve done my research (google and many emails to tech support) and own a decent amount of their gear.

Their plate carriers generally come with a soft armor insert. I got the MV and was able to opt out and save $200 since I run stand alone plates.

It is my opinion that to some degree you get what you pay for with them. The gear I do own from then looks flawless, feels comfy as a pillow, and has integration equal or greater to crye/other offerings at the moment. Look at their X-frame system and zip on back panels just to name a few.
