Skallywag Tactical has released a brand new ‘affordable’ blade, the Gladium Knife. The Gladium is forge from 440 stainless, with a black stone wash finish. It comes complete with a kydex sheath, and is only 5″ OAL and 3mm thick, making it a good addition to an EDC configuration.

Just ordered, that’s a hell of a price for a Skallywag. Will have to give it a spin and see what I think.

I just got mine a little over a week ago. It has a kydex sheath that’s set up for neck carry. This knife is the perfect size for an emergency back up and the handle is just big enough to get a really good forward or reverse grip on it with out it being to bulky. It’s been great for carrying at the beach or park when I’m wearing clothing that makes it hard to carry my normal edc folder.
The only down side is that it’s made in China. I would have paid a little more for made in the USA.

    • Ray, We wanted to do it stateside but when we looked into it the same piece would have had to sell for $135.00. We aim to give you the best product and the best price, It’s a balancing act…

Do you mind us using your comments as a review?

I would be happy to and thank you for the response. I understand it’s a balancing act and I’m not knocking it for being made overseas. Just thought that regular readers here would want to know.

I would also like to say thank you , for your service and your continuing work with veterans I admire what you do and the passion you bring with you.

Oh don’t be like that, it can be used to make a stake, too 🙂

Also can serve as an on-demand wrist cutter.

Have had mine for about a week now. The size is just right in my bear paw, for a concealed/back-up blade. It is nice to have here in Europe where weapons laws are not all that freedom friendly.

I’ve had mine for a week, gave it a little extra sharpening and it’s pretty much a perfect blade for the size and price. I also wrapped a GearTie around the handle for a better grip and that’s made it into an amazing work knife.

I highly recommend it for collectors and people that need a small daily knife, and that like me just hate folders.
