Matador’s Beast28 Packable Technical Backpack is, as its name implies, a 28-liter backpack which is also packable/stowable. Thanks to its unique design, it can be compressed down to roughly the size of a football, and weighs only 20 oz. empty. The Beast28 is made of PU-coated ripstop nylon, and comes complete with a large main compartment, breathable straps, lumbar padding, and is hydration pack-compatible.

An intriguing pack at a reasonable price point.

It seems to be sold out at the moment.

Hopefully it will be restocked soon.

Unfortunately, it’s been sold out for a while. I happened across it a while back on everydaycarry.com and have been trying to get my hands on one for a while. I’m hanging onto my REI bag for now.

Nice concept especially if traveling internationally to get to a hike. I’ve been using TAD’s Azimuth pack for a few months now but this one seems to have a bit more support and load bearing without being much bigger. And at that price point it’s worth trying.

      So what?
Neither is my car, my watches, my clothes, my shoes, my DSLR, hell all my electronics and appliances. Get over it.
