Ivan shared this handy hack for dealing with 1” webbing. He says he’s used duct tape and electrical tape in the past but it always turns into a mess. This stuff works great and can be used as emergency fire starters. And it is free, bonus.

A oldie and a goodie. GMCS Wells taught me that one at SBU-20 (waaaaay back in the day). I still keep a bunch of cut tube pieces in an old pill container. The pill container keeps an almost airtight seal, so the pieces maintain their elasticity.
They’re also handy for starting fires in really horrible conditions….
Bicycle tubes! Everything old is new again… we were using this back in the early 90s and it was common from before then.
Great Video. Is that a Ferro Chest Rig in the picture?
Thanks JB, and it is a Whiskey Two Four chest rig.
Whiskey Two Four makes some great stuff. I regret not getting that base chestrig platform in back or grey while it was produced.
Thanks!
Terrific advice for a cheap, easy, and effective way to manage gear with household items. Thanks for the post, I’ll be using this technique a lot.
