Ok, every once in awhile I lose my mind and I go on a rant. Today, you get to listen in. WTF is a “clip”? Oh sure , I know what it is, and what Hollywood and the main stream media think it is. But, what it truly is, is a codeword. “Clip” is a word used to evoke certain emotions in an audience; negative emotions. So I immediately know, the second that word is used in a publication, news report, or film that the author has an agenda. Whether they even realize it or not. They are attempting to shock.
I also know that when I overhear a couple of guys at a gun show looking for some “clips” for their gats that they are just as much a part of the problem. They are doing it because they heard it used in a movie or on the news (but chances are good they didn’t read it). It’s “cool”. The term evokes negative emotions and that is the whole point isn’t it? It is, if you are the kind of guy who is looking for “clips”.
It’s all a mindset. “Clips” are bad. Even I think so because the term makes guns look dangerous. And that’s exactly what the gun grabbers want. So, turn it around. Make it work for you. If you find the need to scare off bad guys with a firearm, remember to tell them you have a 30 round “clip” and they will run away in fear. Just make sure yours actually works, in case the other guy bought some at a gun show.
