A couple of years ago, one of our readers said our site was, “like crack for the tactical addict,” since once you start visiting, you can’t stop.
But this SHOT Show I realized something and I even told Tactical Mama that I now know what Frankenstein feels like on Halloween. What I meant was that I do this everyday. For the vast majority of others, SHOT Show is the one week where they get to see the coolest new weapons and gear and rub elbows with Captains of Industry. That’s a daily occurance for me and one of the reasons we do the live blogging right from the show floor, to help you experience shows like we do, minus the sore feet.
We don’t have to tout our SHOT Show coverage because it’s part and parcel to our core. We cover as many shows as we can and break stories all of the time.
Like I tell people all of the time, “SSD is running a marathon.”
So, from that, a new Tagline was born.
“SSD, Where Every Day’s a Trade Show”
What do you think?
Does this mean I need to change your catch phrase on your next batch of chips???
I like it.
No way, those gotta stay that way.
I think it’s terrific! I know we appreciate everything you guys have done for us over the past few months.
i don”t like the new tagline but it is applicable. your coverage of events blew every other websites away and i noticed a few of them piggybacking off your coverage. you guys rock. congrats on great work.
I know where you’re trying to go here, but I’m not sure that this quite crosses the line. I just don’t think “trade show” is quite descriptive enough. Maybe “tactical trade show” would take it closer where you want to be?
If the customer or reader is here, I’m pretty sure they know it’s tactical in some sense already.
But I think that a tagline is also for the uninitiated. It is marketing after all.
We were going to say, “where every day’s SHOT Show” but figured NSSF would howl for blood.
It works. I prefer “An industry daily” because I think it’s simple and accurate, but hey, nothing wrong with a change.
I hit this site usually a few times a day and think you do a great job, all in all. Keep it up.
I’m with Jack. You guys are “on time, on target!”

I am just going to go ahead and say you guys are doing one hell of a job. Dont care about motto or tagline or catch phrase or whatever else. You name it whatever you want. Just keep up the good work.
SSD is key to the Shows, since we were exhibiting many of us did not get to see much or walk the show, so we can get the highlights from SSD.
Just getting back from SHOT and catching up. Looks like we could have saved ourselves a lot of walking (and wading through useless crap) by staying in one spot and just reading SSD. Good show SSD!
SSD, you guys fit some of the criteria for a perfect tagline, or advertising slogan, i.e. seven words or less, sums up mission etc.
I would go with something that exhibits not only what is found here, but capability to clientele (advertisers, industry professionals, and units seeking gear advice).
I would go with:
“Where the tip of the spear finds its cutting edge” or something to that effect.

E,
Clever…very. But FWIW, stick with “An Industry Daily”. You combine serious reporting and editorial content with some lighter, “cool shit” type stories. The former requires a serious approach to the market to have the appropriate impact; the latter sums up a great weekend in Vegas.
Regardless, we will be here.
