Facebook has developed this cool new feature to twist my arm into paying them to share my newsfeed with SSD readers that are our fans on Facebook. They want me to ‘promote’ my posts for a fee. For example, my reach has gone from about 2000 for each post to about 600 since they instituted this policy. However, you can ensure that you receive the SSD posts on your newsfeed by clicking the “Like” button for SSD and selecting “Show in News Feed”. Do this for all of your favorites.
Thanks for the heads up.
It’s pretty frustrating to see FB implement all of these new formats (Timeline) and policies that make it harder for business to interact with their clients. Since that’s the only reason I’m even on FB, the harder they make it, the less inclined I am to keep using it.
I agree. It becomes more difficult to use.
I wouldn’t mind paying a flat fee but their fee structures force me to pay and pay and pay.
I get the FB updates, but when I go to your website, it is stuck on April 27th. I can go to Archives and get the update though.
SSD is stuck on April 27?
Still only a percentage will be reached.
FB is just one tool in the box. It has evolved past it’s original social media exchange between people to that of businesses reaching their customers.
Just because it started out free, doesn’t mean it will stay free forever.
Because of shenanigans like this from content aggregators and generators like you, venture capitalists and ground-floor FB personnel are trying to figure out where their next million will come from. I hope you’re happy…
Its interesting that each page I check is already set to “Show in news feed” yet tons of updates seem to miss my news feed. Google+ is starting to look more and more appealing, thanks facebook.
