2POOD MultiCam Freedom Utility Short v.2.0

Our friends at Kill Cliff made us aware of 2POOD. They make a variety of workout clothing. One of their items that caught our eye is the MultiCam Freedom Utility v.2.0. It’s a training short that integrates NYCO with stretch panels on the sides and crotch. The shorts feature an elasticized waist and are available in Small – 2XLarge.

Tjis may be a dumb question but 2pood? What’s it mean?

  2. Michael says:

Pood is a Russian weight measurement with reference to the size of a cannon ball. Kettle bells are essentially cannonballs with handles and were developed as a means of strength and conditioning in Russia. This is my basic understanding of it.

  3. Curtis K says:

Pood (Russian: ???, tr. pud; IPA: [put]), is a unit of mass equal to 40 funt (????, Russian pound). It is approximately 16.38 kilograms (36.11 pounds)

So a Kettlebell that is 32KG and 72lbs.

It’s hard to say, how it could be related to cannonball, because this measure of weight was used in ancient Russia at least from 12th century while first cannons was made, at least, 400 years later.

But anyway, “pood” was imperial measure of weight, that is in use for kettlebells only in modern times.

In addition, it’s used in slang – when somebody says in Russian: “Hundred poods” – he means: “I’m absolutely sure, that’s true.”
