“Outside” magazine asked their readers about their most prized possessions and the Benchmade 940 Osborne made the list. I can tell you that it is a great knife. It features a 3.5″ Modified reverse tanto blade made from S30V steel paired with Green anodized 6061-T6 aluminum handles and Benchmade’s AXIS locking system.

I’ve got one the NRA had them make, the blade is 154CM, it really is just the sweetest design, opens like butta, and holds an edge! I love it!
I have to agree. I have an Osborne design and among ALL my knives, it’s the most comfortable and smooth. I bought it to be one of my “utility” knives, but I love it so much that I now to tend to just admire it and use some of my lesser favorite knives for the hard work. There’s really no good way to describe how comfortable it is; you have to feel it for yourself.
Cool to see the Dana Design on there too. My o.g. Big Sky is still going strong.
The main reason the 940 is so bad ass is that it’s a big knife that carries like a small one. That’s a Warren Osbourne talent. He can make a knife feel much more compact than it really is.
