According to Sig Sauer, the SIG MPX is the world’s first submachine gun that operates with a fully closed and locked rotating bolt system. It is a gas-operated short stroke piston system and allows the shooter to change barrel length, caliber and stock configuration in the field to meet mission requirements. Additionally, they claim that it is easily convertible to 9mm NATO, .357SIG or .40S&W. But to me, one of the big advantages is that you are getting AR-style ergonomics.

semi-auto pistol in 9 or .357SIG please!
Finally some innovation coming out of Exeter that involves more than changing color schemes. Let’s hope it works better than the P250.
Hey TM what’s wrong with the P250? I’ve never had one problem with mine. And I could put a whole mag on a paper plate at 30 yds no problem. With a .45 at that. Maybe you should learn how to shoot. Cause the Sig P250 will brin out your flaws and make you correct them. Happy shooting!
I’m glad you could hit a paper plate at 30 yards. Maybe you could show FAMS what they were doing wrong. Or explain to ATF why their failed tests of the P250 were just a matter of them not knowing how to shoot. Or maybe you can take SIG’s position and and explain to them that they put “too much emphasis on reliability” (and yes, that’s an actual quote from SIG).
Or maybe you could just stay in your lane…
We turned them down as well. They were a no go, even with the sig rep standing there.
But we weren’t shooting at paper plates, so maybe we missed something.
how long before this shows up in the next sci-fi flick?
Very limited application
For home defense, anyone willing to get an SBR stamp can have an awesome little pistol caliber carbine that’s not an AR with a modified magwell. Granted, there are already a few on the market, not to mention the 9mm AR builds and their excess material for 5.56.
It strikes me, though, that if you load this thing up with JHP it’ll become the scariest gun the gungrabbers can imagine – short barreled rifle with collapsing stock and detachable magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds outside of the pistol grip loaded up with [gasp] hollow point rounds!
Which incidentally makes the perfect home defense rifle in my opinion.
No 10mm?
Pass.
As Mike says, the P250 will show you what you are doing wrong, but it has made me a better shooter. Might not be for everyone, but that what’s great about right now, there are a lot of choices. Check out the Nutnfancy review in youtube, he puts he P250 thru its’ paces and declares it ” combat ready”.
