I like that they made the end of the blade blunt so you could cut open clothing without puncturing skin.

Correct they have a blunt style and a modified sheepsfoot style. I saw somewhere they have an “auto triage” coming out where the cutting hook is on an auto deploy.

too bad they don’t have anything a tad smaller. A little large for me and EDC.

I obtained one of these knives more than a year ago and have used it in several emergency situations as a career fire officer. As with all Benchmade Knives, excellent execution of cutlery design. I highly recommend this model (in either blade configuration) to those in the emergency services or anyone who wants a trustworthy and utilitarian folding knife.

Shame that our laws are so rubbish in Australia that not even Fire Rescue / LEO / EMT or Defence can privately order any folding knives that are worth a damn… I’ve been hunting a Spyderco Assist and one of these for ages now with no luck. They look great, good work Benchmade.
