You probably know New Hampshire’s Snake Hound Machine for their AKs. Now, they’re producing custom Remington 870s.
I caught up with owner Owen Martin and he shared this gun with me. Although he generally starts with an 870 Express Magnum, this one started life as a stock Express Magnum.
He breaks the 870 down and applies a reliability package to the action. Additionally, he introduces a billet aluminum, Teflon coated follower to the build and replaced the factory stock and fore end with Magpul models.
He also installs a ten round billet aluminum tube from RTI. Looking at the photo above you might notice where the tube has been turned down. This is to accommodate a clamp and gives you a good idea of how much beefier it is than other tubes.

OK I live in Southern Maine and I have never head of them. I will have to look them up and were they are. I may just have to bring my 870 to them.
so it doesn’t come with a clamp
It RCI Xtension and it includes the tube, spring, and follower
I messed with it and it was rock solid. I’d say get a clamp to mount a light, but it didn’t feel like it needed one to me. So the answer to your question is, ‘no, it doesn’t come with a clamp.’
WTF is an 870 reliability package? Has anyone in the history of mankind had an FTF with an 870/590/1300 that wasnt an operator induced short stroke?
