UDT Vest Gets An Update – Sort Of

20130426-141112.jpg

The UDT Vest design hasn’t changed since WWII but recently, they updated the fitting for the CO2 cartridge to a more modern component. Turns out, nobody wanted to make the old metal ones anymore. There’s talk of a whole new design but so far it’s just talk and these still have to be hand manufactured just like in days of old.

We used to get our butts chewed for doing that. It was always easier to get Seatec carts than it was UDT carts so we would retro fit them to Seatec actuators but you always had the crusty old MDV at the command that would complain that the carts where not made for it so we couldn’t do it. I still have a couple that are set up like that.

Maybe they could also update UDT shorts while they are at it…
