Old Virginia Modified Herringbone Fabric

While this Old Virginia Modified Herringbone fabric has zero tactical application, it’s still cool to see these small mills continue to manufacture specialty fabrics here in the US. In this case, the fabric is woven on a 1939 Crompton & Knowles W3 shuttle loom and used by The Hill-Side to produce ties.

Wow, watching those old textile machines work is mesmerizing. And it’s cool that it’s all operated by only a couple of dedicated individuals off in the woods somewhere.
