PROOF Research uses a patented manufacturing processes using carbon-fiber wrapped barrels to offer the disciplined shooter proven accuracy, longevity and durability. It’s pretty cool. I fired a couple of their weapons at SHOT Show 2013.
If you’ve ever used a chrono, then you know what a pain they can be. That’s why I’m so stoked about the MagnetoSpeed because its barrel mounted, right to the gun. Rather than using screens, it relies on magnetic sensors. Check it out.
Wouldn’t mounting the chrono on the barrel change your rifles dynamics during the shot? This would severely affect your point of impact. Maybe it would be good if it was easy on, easy off. That way you could chrono your first couple shots and then take the accuracy shots later. I see this as driving an automatic car because it is easier when a manual is more difficult but can have more enjoyable returns.

It is easy on / off.
Accurate MV data is more important than pin-point accuracy… Relax, the magneto isn’t going to make your rounds spiral violently out of control, clearing berms and landing on highways or shooting down low flying satellites.
