DJ at American Kami has been working on THE SHIIT (Situational Heavyduty Idiots Implement Technical) BAG for quite awhile now. He’s a knife maker and not a nylon guy but he set out to design one hell of a bag. And he’s succeeded.
Right up front you have to put a few things into perspective.
1. American Kami’s THE SHIIT BAG is not for everyone.
2. American Kami’s THE SHIIT BAG is a very specialized piece of kit.
3. American Kami’s THE SHIIT BAG is built in limited runs.
4. American Kami’s THE SHIIT BAG is Made in USA.
All of this adds up to an expensive bag.
This thing is so packed with features that the only way to really learn about it is via video.
Here’s the timeline:
1. Order books close next Tuesday, 10 September, at 11.59PM CST. I will require all payments to be processed by then.
2. Wednesday morning, I submit the final count to the vendor and they start rocking out the production.
3. 8-10 weeks later, finished bags arrive here.
4. I pay the vendor.
5. I do a complete individual QC check on each bag setup, pack, and ship.
6. Your bag arrives.
7. We all do our happy dance.
The complete kit comes with:
1. The bag.
2. The strap.
3. The strap pad.
4. The flap.
5. Two tear out dividers with internal, top loading, Velcro closure pockets.
6. Ten single sided Velcro MOLLE/PALS Ripstrips.
7. Five double sided Velcro MOLLE/PALS Ripstrips.
8. The MBS holster.
Total price per kit is $624 plus USPS priority insured shipping.
Kits are only available in coyote at this time.

Way too big for my needs, but that’s a kick ass bag.
Annnnnnnd, cue the haters who will complain about the price…
I’m waiting on THE LIL SHIIT BAG coming soon.
+1 on the 215Gear recommendation. This bag looks sick. I’d want less of the features visible from the outside, but I would risk looking mall-ninja for this bag.
Thanks buddy. Glad you appreciate the system.
Yep, big fan of their URB. That’s my everyday pants belt.
On the visibility, it’s a line I had to walk on these. In this case, form needs to follow function. And the bag does have a flap to cover up that MOLLE webbing.
If you need something smaller and lower key, the Dr Jones bag will be coming soon…
I’ll wait for the $85 Condor version….
Never going to happen. You haven’t seen this construction, feature set, and material combination on a non-USA made bag because there is no way to execute it on the cheap. Quality costs money. And so does keeping jobs on American soil.
My only complaint about the price would be – How did you come up with such an odd number? 624?
That’s just how it worked out.
Thanks guys. Really glad you dig it, and really appreciate your support.
Thanks so much for posting this, E.
As was mentioned, there is a smaller version called The Little SHIIT / Dr Jones Bag. I’ll be releasing more info on those as we get closer to production.
I think a lot of people understand these for what they are. When you have to have what’s on the top shelf, there simply are no substitutes – it is just another bag like a LaRue OBR is just another rifle. Not everyone needs that much rifle. Not everyone needs this much bag. For those that do, I’ve designed these.
I’d just like to say it’s classy as hell for a knife maker to be rocking another knife maker’s (or in this case two other knife makers) shirt. Good form Mr. Urbanovsky. Good form.
Thanks buddy.
Represent!
Note the RMJ patch on my hat, also. 😉
I own stuff from Curtis, Mark, and Ryan. Each piece is as awesome as the men who made it. Which is to say VERY.
Variety is the spice of life.
I got one of these over a year ago from a run on LF, maybe even two years ago? Best bag I’ve ever owned. Has pulled every duty from travel bag to range bag to bail-out bag to laptop bag. Construction is flawless, nothing has started to come apart, stretch, change colour etc. How often do you buy a bag? Buy once, cry once – I’ll still be using this thing in 10 years. Mine is Coyote, I’ll be keeping an eye out for another run in Multicam or – do I dare to dream? – Highlander or Typhon…
Wow.
Thanks for your support, early adopter! Greatly appreciated.
Holy crap. More like two and a half years on those. Does yours have the single or dual zipper on the top?
I am thrilled to hear that the original bag has been serving you so well. Thrilled. This makes me feel like a fell in some feelings and didn’t brush it all off.
Please email me a pic of your bag, if it’s not too much trouble. Would love to see it nearly three years later. info@americankami.com .
Mines the double-zipper model – it’s currently packed up in a shipping container on a train heading to my new posting but when I unpack it I’ll grab you some photos. You’ll find it looks unnervingly similar to how it looked when it was brand new, it has stood up exceptionally well.
That would be awesome buddy. Looking forward to that when you get a chance. Safe travels and talk soon.
Tacticool ninja’s with more money than common sense will love this. Other than that its a $600+ briefcase. No thanks.
Cooler than tabi boots, dude. Way cooler.
$624? GTFOH
C’mon. YKYWO.
