How to Fold a Topo Map by Pro Guiding Service

Topo maps come in flat sheets that aren’t prefolded. Guide Martin Volken shows you the best way to fold it for handy use.

    Good folding for storage, not field use…. I personally like to cut the border and stick map number and scale and other stuff like that behind. I write the long and lat, highlight it, then a little job of plastic wrap et voilà!

    We used too cut them up and put that info on the back. Along with pics of the ladies.. anyway, we also used too cut the maps up into easy too fold grids, and laminate them. That way they were Waterproofed, and durable. along with we could use them to write on with markers.. Only map I was never able too do this with was the NTC maps. Two very large map sheets, and I ended up carrying in each cargo pocket while out there training.. Here where i live now, the maps are folded the way he explains. but with other info shown.
