KOTA Longboards

I know you saw the title of this post and started scratching your head. Trust me, it all fits together. First off, before I go any further, I want to say that KOTA Longboards is a Veteran owned business. Second, these guys are thrill seekers, just like you. Which leads to the heart of the matter; I know some of you guys ride longboards to keep a little bit of adrenalin in your downtime. Consequently, I thought I should tell all of you a little about KOTA Longboards, especially after I shared one of their videos last night in support of the CFF Indiegogo campaign.

Kota Longboards

KOTA Longboards was founded by a F-14 Tomcat pilot and TOPGUN graduate along with a Combat Wounded former Force Recon Marine in May 2012 with the mission to offer a broader action sports demographic, a high performance, sophisticated style longboard. They hand craft their decks in Denver, Colorado using Hard Rock Maple from Wisconsin. And their designs are awesome.

The culture of the company is honor, integrity and esprit de corps. Even the company name is related to the military. ‘KOTA’ comes from ‘Knights of the Air’ which is a WW I term for aviators. And this company is rife with aviators. So much so, even their legal disclaimer is borrowed from the U.S. Navy LSO School, ‘Rectum Non Bustus’ – which loosely translated means, ‘Don’t Bust Your Ass’. Ride hard, have fun, be safe.

In order to move the primary art surface to the top of the board, they’ve developed a proprietary clear, gloss grip finish that eliminates the need for any grip tape.

Notice I mentioned that the company was founded by Veterans? Well they remember where they came from. Veterans receive a 10% discount everyday.

Awesome! I wonder if he’ll do custom graphics for unit group-buys, teams, etc.

They do. They made custom boards for my company as well as a few other companies and units. Give them a ring. The company is great to work with and has amazing customer service.
