MagPod In Production

MagPod has been plagued with delay after delay but we are pleased to tell you that they are in production with an estimated delivery of March. They’ve also been issued a US patent.

I’ve been a longtime fan of the MagPod which is an aftermarket floor plate modification for the Magpul M2 magazine. Once installed it transforms your magazine into a very effective monopod. In fact, it works so well that you can use it to stand your carbine on the magazine. Additionally, it offers an excellent grip to grab the mag from its pouch. The MagPod I have is a couple of generations old and changes have been focused on manufacturability rather than function.

  1. Glad to see these finally go into production.

  2. Ty says:

Like I’ve said before using the mag as a pod creates a pivot point in the middle of the rifle causing greater muzzle rise, having your pod closer to the end of the barel would increase macanical advantage with less rise and faster follow up shots

After seeing the prototypes and then seeing the “finished” product I have to ask, is there a way of obtaining one of the 2012 prototypes? They looked a lot better and looked to be bolder and a lot more stable.

Here’s your homework sport. Send me a photo of your rifle standing up on your ranger plate equipped PMAG.
