I know there are many readers of SSD that are currently in route to Las Vegas Nevada to attend the annual SHOT Show . Some of them will be going for no other reason than to conduct industrial espionage. What better place to get an under the hood view of your competitors than a tradeshow?
While they aren’t a company we would normally mention on SSD, this video by Saddleback Leather entitled, “How to Knock Off a Bag” certainly caught our eye. In the spirit of sharing some training in the ways of industrial espionage we thought we’d share it with you. We know it will somebody out. But, if you prefer quality, you might enjoy the video as well.

Is there an Chinese translation coming soon?
This dude is awesome. After seeing this, watched some of his product videos. I like his style and I bet that is an awesome company to work for.
What a rad video and guy, haha!
That was awesome. His bags aren’t my style, but I can appreciate the quality and design thought that must go into them.
I’ve had one of his briefcases for a few years now, its a pretty awesome product. I’ve always liked him and his company, great to do business with.
Delightful…
Makes me want to buy one.
Been buying Dave’s leather goods for years.
Can beat his $14 sleeve wallet and Moleskin covers.
Dave is a guy always giving back to the community and others. I would expect nothing other than Dave giving back to the cheaters who rip off his product through counterfeits!
That was a great video. Shows what a great company they are, and how much craftsmanship goes into their products.
Fantastic… when I was @ SwissArmy we did a similar video for internal use to edjucate our sales force and buyers… Nice work Dave, keep up the great work!
I’ve been looking to buy a new backpack and didn’t wanna spend too much money on it. This makes me rethink my budget and expectations. Great video.
I’m sure those poor Mexican men and women must be making a fairly decent income given the price tags of those products. I can see spending that kind of money on something that was made HERE in the U.S., where I knew my hard earned dollars were benefiting our economy instead of the Mexican cartels that run that country. It was a comical waste of 12 minutes of my life, though! Good job guy.
Espionage or just plain faking a quality product with inf. materials? There is a difference!
Man, that was friggin’ hilarious! I want a Mariachi Band in my office.
