I think the 6/12 system is great and I fully support the guys in their endeavor to get it off the ground. I haven’t seen but a very very small handful of guys embrace it and they make up a very small portion of the people I know who have 6/12 capable chest rigs or carriers. I still think 6/9 is where most people are at, especially in a retail setting where people are buying pouches and such for other systems. 6/12 is damn cool and I hope more people pick it up, but I think if the tabs on 6/12 allowed it to still be attached to traditional molle somehow that it’d be more universally appreciated/adopted.
My team has been using the 6/12 system now for 2 years. It is the lightest and versatile system out there. We still use MOLLE pouches out of convenience, but have 6/12 pouches as well. While MOLLE still functions well, the fact is that the 6/12 pouches are lighter, more secure, and fit closer to the body. There is nothing wrong with MOLLE, but 6/12 is better. We will be converting completely to 6/12 as funds allow.
