Osprey Range Day – Ohio Ordnance Works M240 Semi-Auto Trigger Pack

OOW Semi-Auto Trigger Pack

In addition to the HCAR, Ohio Ordnance Works also had their M240 Semi-Auto trigger Pack available at the Osprey Range Day. The M240 Select Fire is a direct replacement trigger pack for all MAG and M240 variants which allows the machinegunner to switch between semi and full-auto fire. This increases the versatility of the M240, by allowing the machinegunner to place more precise shots while not wearing down on the sear. Additionally, it becomes much easier to zero in the weapon when set to semi-automatic.

I did some T&E on these a few years ago, and it’s an awesome idea. OOW loaned us one and I couldn’t believe it’s not in use.

Good for zeroing and allows more flexibility for overwatch positions where crowd density might be a problem.

I dunno, I want to like this but a good gunner can do single shots anyway… and it always seemed to increase the rate of jams.

    • SSD says:

This increases jams or trying to squeeze out single rounds on a full auto 240 does?

      • Will says:

Trying to squeeze off single shots with the 240.

I have no experience with this product.

        • TCBA_Joe says:

In all my experience with this I never had or saw a single malfunction.

I never had any issue with pulling off a single shot, but it doesn’t require timing on the part of the shooter to accomplish and it allows a more proper trigger squeeze.

Now I just need one for my 249!

  9. Tim says:

An assistant gunner? Are you folks that flush with bodies you can afford to have a No2 on the gun. That went out in the British Army in 1982 and we carried 2 GPMGs per section after the Falklands war. Its only a crew weapon when mounted in the sustained fire role o a tripod, you fellahs will be wanting boots for the cold next!

  10. Tim says:

It makes a lot of sense to zero any weapon and its optics, insane not to. If you want to spray and waste ammo then don’t, single shots are very effective from that weapon using AP ammo right out past 800 yards on vehicles and that’s way beyond where the M4 will go!
