Glock approached Atlanta-based production company Modest to produce a spot for their G41 pistol. CraterDust, Glock’s creative agency, came up with a concept involving a Special Forces team doing a takedown of a hijacked plane on the tarmac. This inspired director Matthew Pope to utilize a single real-time shot to put the viewer in the middle of the action.
A particular scene called for a shot that started on a crane 30-feet above two parked SUVs and ended 300-yards away at the moment the plane was breached. To achieve this, Pope worked with Director of Photography Matthew Rogers and Special Effects Coordinator Drew Kimball to coordinate a shot that utilized pulleys, a Movi rig, handing off a RED Epic camera from one moving vehicle to another, and half a dozen camera operators.
