Two great companies, Beyond Clothing and Grey Ghost Gear, have teamed up to create the Rig Light Jacket.
Constructed from Beyond’s proprietary 4-way Stretch Woven Fabric and ripstop nylon, the Rig Light combines aspects of a softshell with a midlayer to provide a durable, lightweight jacket. It features DWR treatment, which sheds light rain and snow.
Features include:
Right and left external bicep pockets with 4×7″ loop patches
Left zippered chest pocket
Low profile lightweight ripstop nylon hood zips into collar
Left and right external hand pockets
Hook and loop wrist closures
Available in sizes SM – 2XL.

Reminds me of the old ORC PCU LVL5 tops…….I like it!!
At a decent price too.
Exactly what I was thinking, with a little better styling.
Special Features include:
Bicep pockets- wow
Chest pocket- holy shit
Hand pockets- inconceivable
Stow-able hood- incredible
Wrist closures- unf*cking believable
This changes everything, such innovation! I have never seen any of these features in any thing before!
Where did it actually say they were special features?
Why even bother posting?
Well when something new comes out, especially when it’s a collaboration between two companies you think it would be something special. But when pockets and a Velcro wrist is the shout outs why even bother making it.
My homegirl Taylor Swift said it best: The playas gonna play, play, play, play, play. And Haters gonna……
It’s an affordable jacket, that looks nice, from 2 companies in the industry. SSD reports on the industry and more. Post is relevant.
Well played, sir!
On an unrelated note, the size chart starts at 5’10”? Crap…
what is your height? I will have someone here put it on that matches that height.
Thank you for the follow-through, whoa!
5’4″, ~38″ chest, ~32″ waist with tools. The height aside, it looks like I’m right in the zone for a small. Could you comment on the fit, please (ie. trim, regular, athletic)?
It’s more of an athletic fit. a small would probably be the best fit based on your measurements.
Yea, what she said.
Much appreciated!
You must have a really special jacket you designed, made and marketed I take it?
You’d better check yourself…
May not be Uber innovative and ground-breaking but Ummmmmm, stitched in the States! Yes thank you very much.
will wait on militarymoron’s review
Apart from the velcro on the bicep pockets, I kind of dig it. The stow-able hood is a bit of a neat idea. If I needed another softshell, I would be all over that.
Oh, you determine you first must have a need for a new jacket before buying?
Hmm I’ll think of that but in the mean time, don’t tell my wife about that option.

Are production models going to have that black sleeve Velcro? Any plans on color matching?
Spoke to Beyond and this jacket is supposedly lighter than Glacier jacket / Level5. I might just remove that black Velcro…will see.
Design team is on point. Cross stitching on the sleeve tabs, layering of shapes for contour fit, complementing contrast colors. Nice clean work.
Just what I’d expect from both companies.
