I’m in the I don’t need it, but want it, and can’t afford it crowd!
Totally relate
I’m actually super stoked on this as someone who does a lot of SAR work. My crew has been using recreational climbing helmets from manufacturers like Petzl for years or tech rescue helmets from Cairns. The petzl climbing helmets are great when we’re climbing, but in terms of protection in other environments they don’t hold up, the Cairns helmets are heavy as hell and good luck mounting something on it without some serious modification. Having a helmet specifically dedicated to SAR personnel, from a Mfg. known for quality is gonna be great. Any word on pricing?
I’m in agreement with multiple environment aspect. I would like to have a cross between a lightweight climbing helmet and the kevlar rescue helmet I presently use for tower work. I’ll be interested in seeing the specs.
I’m part of the “I don’t absolutely need it but it would make my life easier and I’d get it for the right price” crowd.
Hopefully Team Wendy read my comment on the other post… I’m waiting for the price announcement. That’s what will determine if it’s a superior contender or an entirely separate category altogether.
I am glad to see this come to fruition. The people that spec’ed these out are going to be very, very happy.
I don’t need one, don’t want one*, but I’m glad to see this market getting some good gear that will keep them safer and make them more capable.
Hope to see more of this.
*Okay, maybe I do.
Great idea.
I wonder if there is a new group at TW dedicated to developing new products for non-military related industries?
I hope they produce this with more color options, as a firefighter and adventure tourism guide in my spare time, I’d buy one.
Wonder if us coasties will get em…
