Wear This Shirt at Your Own Risk

(null)

Nitelife Promotions offers Open Carry T-shirts that look real. While they were created by a Pro-2A business owner Paul Liebe to promote firearms, even he admits that they could be mistaken by law enforcement for a real gun. In fact, he includes this warning in his site as well as with each shirt.

They are available in a variety of sizes, colors and styles but regardless, they look real enough that it could cause some tension. I’d say that if you’re going to wear it under a vest or jacket like this photo suggests, you might as well expect some unwanted attention.

I don’t doubt the man’s dedication, I’m just questioning the execution. I’ll file this one in the “even though you could, you shouldn’t have” folder.

Surely it would have been smarter to have done the image as a line-art outline or black silhouette rather than this photo-realistic execution?

That way you could still make the statement, but without the risk….

    SMH.

  2. Matt says:

This is stupid, and I don’t really get why it’s posted here. Is it just a paid “ad”? Meaning, does SSD sell its article space?

I am tired of folks who want to poke and push and prod with the intention of “strengthening the 2A” because the reality tends to be public backlash that plays directly into the hands of politicians.

I agree, SSD, that could does not equate to should.

    • Francis says:

Agreed. How does acting like an idiot support or strengthen the 2A?

    • mike says:

SSD doesn’t take money or product for stories, he posts things he finds relevant to the industry. If someone was able to buy him it would cost well more than these guys are able to put up.

This is a relevant news item even if it isn’t good gear. In addition to sharing the forehead slap with his friends and readers he’s also giving LE and MIL guys a first look at something they may encounter on the street. What’s wrong with that?

    • SSD says:

We don’t do paid stories. Go elsewhere for that tripe.

  3. straps says:

Shouldn’t his have the WTF tag too?

    Also, that 1990s web page…

    • Dave says:

Lol, if you’re an idiot who makes an idiotic product, thats the best website you’re gonna make… Not shocked at all.

  4. Francis says:

This looks like Darwin award in the making.

  5. OkieRim says:

possibly one of the dumbest items ever to be sold anywhere on planet Earth…

  6. badjujuu says:

This shirt probably would not have been a that big of a issue 10-15 years ago and back…..today though…….different story.

  7. Bill says:

Stayin’ classy at the 7-Eleven….can he add a screen printed shouldered SIG brace?

Right up there with the gang-banger / thug-life set who thought wearing body armor carriers on the outside was a fashion statement; without the panels.

    Shirts’ Up, Don’t Shoot!

  8. bluenoser says:

    Deserves a WTF? tag.

  9. AbnMedOps says:

Reminds me of the shirtless wonder with a tattoo of a pistol butt at the top of his pants, in Maine last year. He did something stupiod that attracted negative notice and got proned-out by the local SWAT team.

  10. Chris U'5 says:

    VERY, VERY stupid.
The only effect this could have on the Pro-2A cause is a negative one and it will cause noting but trouble for everyone involved.

  11. Evets Steve says:

these shirts are to pro-2a culture what ass-less chaps are to the gay rights movement.

  12. Gunslinger6 says:

Great idea if you want to be shot by a cop

  13. Dave says:

This is the dumbest thing ive ever seen posted on this otherwise very professional website. Take this shit down and stop giving these morons the free ad space.

I get that the first amendment protects idiots rights to express themselves by wearing stupid ass shirts that will freak out cops, civilians, gun owners, and hurt the cause of pro-firearms, freedom loving Americans like ourselves, but just because you CAN do something doesn’t mean you should.

    • SSD says:

If this is the dumbest, you haven’t been reading very long.

      • Hanley says:

Thanks for posting this! I needed a good laugh, and it is nice to see all the Trolls posting the typical “I could run this site better than SSD” comments.

        • Dave says:

Trololol. Glad I gave you a good chuckle there jack. When I am king of SSD, Everyone gets a free retard shirt. Vote “Dave”

  14. Comprehenshion says:

It does surprise the shit out of me that SSD would run this, but than again – we need the humor. This fucktard shilled these shirts on a Colorado Gun and Ammo Exchange page along with promoting retail plus pricing on used guns. I do admit being a former viewer of said page…up and until I was banned for calling out crayon eaters regarding their prices. Considering the guy is quite local to me, I will attest that I have NEVER seen someone publicly wearing one of these shirts in SW Colorado or Grand Junction. My County Sheriffs would shoot a motherfucker in the dick just for wearing the damn thing. But Grand Junction, Colorado…where black leather chaps meet open carry shirt for the ultimate pig in a blanket.

    • Luke says:

funny thing is I just moved to GJ, and I just saw this shirt for the first time last week.

      • Comprehenshion says:

GJ has homeless people on population par with Sacramento, Calif too…my point was as I stated with my experience in 11 yrs of going to GJ for some Godforsaken reason or another and here where I live in the four corners. It can be logically presumed that Liebe’s shirts ARE catching popularity…hence SSD stumbled across it. Either way, wear one just north of the Rez…I am sure our pew “professionals” will respond with a bag of ETADIK.

      • Comprehenshion says:

And seeing that shirt on some dude sporting black chaps with his ass out at Country Jam does not count as “public”. An event to gather for swapping wives while listening to songs about fucking your dog because of the 3.2% beer caused your cheating wife to bang the trailer hitch on the ol’ farm truck – is far from “public” and more a fucking “niche” kind of kink. I am sorry you moved to GJ…as you will come to learn, it chokes the proverbial cock’n’balls!

  15. AlexC says:

Bought two. This will be a great training aid for shoot not shoot scenarios and when acting as OPFOR.

    • Terry. B. says:

      AlexC,

Interesting concept for making chicken shit into chicken salad.

I still wouldn’t wear one in public in Colorado.

I don’t want anyone to shoot me in the dick!

      TLB

    • Bill says:

Actually an interesting concept, and could promote a lot of teachable moments about reasonable perception and Graham v Connor.

And then shoot the role player in the dick with sims, and the other role player in assless chaps in the ass.

      • Terry B. says:

        +1

I had to laugh at the last part.

I guess it is true that all good comedy is based on someone getting hurt.

        TLB

      • Comprehenshion says:

Black leather chaps bare assed will only get your ass kicked in the most Conservative of populations nowadays, with LBGT Rights and all…that shirt however, well, I like my dick and my life. That shirt could cost me both to the untrained “professionals” hired by many counties and municipalities across this country.

        • Jack says:

Oh here we go with the cop hater jive again…

          • Comprehenshion says:

Whiskey Tango…? Where the hell did I hate? You obviously have never been through the four corners and witnessed a traffic stop. Nor have you attended, or know current attendees, of our local POST cert classes. Nor have you seen the current climate in and around Albq, NM. Hell, essentially ANY dept aside from San Miguel County is questionable. But than again, our dept is still riding the high life of tax dollars flooded with a officer involved shooting…from the fucking 90’s. Our patrol LEO roll with unique NFA items in their trunks they haven’t fired or trained on since early 2000. And fwiw, I have family serving in local LE and in federal LE. I speak with experience – not fucking hate. Oh, I guess the 1 federal lawsuit currently against my local Dept as well as the 9 local lawsuits…all from the past year, are not indicators of a breakdown in leadership and training. Nope. I didn’t enlist and serve in the fucking Army Air Defense and see degradation of leadership firsthand so I can accurately comment on the very same later in life. So in essence, I encourage you to buy this shirt and come on through the “beautiful” Ute and Navajo Rez…test the “hate” theory you claimed I exerted.
