Osprey Publishing Relaunches ‘Combat Aircraft’ Series

Osprey has been publishing indispensable reference books for decades and now they are revamping the look of both the ‘Aircraft of Aces’ and ‘Combat Aircraft’ series.   One I am looking forward to is this latest study of A-10 use in Operation Enduring Freedom.

The A-10 has been my favorite plane since I was a kid. I can remember giving a speech on it when I was in Junior High School. I wrote to the Fairchild company and they sent me all kinds of posters and pics of the aircraft. This will be a book I will be looking to pick up for sure.

Ha ha, I did the same thing. Had to act as a gun runner selling a product of the defence industry for a history assignment.

Loved the series as a kid, and now my youngest can enjoy them again.

Oh man…that was a trip back down memory lane! As a young kid I would build models for fun and to compete and I had stacks of these on military planes and vehicles. Other boys had Playboy’s under the bed, I had these 🙂

I will take a good look around the site and perhaps buy a few books. Thanks for this post SSD!

Thanks for the Time Trip. Back when I was a model kit fiend, I had my Holy Trinity of references: Jane’s, Detail & Scale, and Osprey.
