One of the last jumps I’ll get while active, great day. Thanks for posting!

Wow, this pic brings back memories of a nasty encounter that i had with a tree branch. Oh, memories courtesy of Fort Bragg

I’d like to buy some more of your patches, are they available anywhere?

    Ah, sweet, painful memories.

LOL, I think that was EVERYBODY’s least-favorite drop zone. I had a heavy-dropped HMMWV burn in there, about 50 yards from where I was standing. Thing looked like a squashed beer can. I think it was our D-35 TOW hummer, the same one we lost in Panama. That thing was cursed.

My least favorite is Luzon, SME has always treated me fairly well, especially with the convenience factor of Casa and UH60 jumps there. I have about ten jumps on that DZ where I landed in the exact same spot every time. This time I hit the active FLS, that was in the category of less than fun.

I absolutely loved CASA jumps on SME. Got out there, rigged, jumped, went home. Short and sweet… I did, however, land on the FLS once as the plane was on approach to land there for the next stick.

Generally, SME was my fav DZ. DC3, Twin Otter, Casa, UH60 and UH1. I don’t think I ever jumped a C130 there.

2 hours 45 minutes from IMC to back in my car, having spent 8 hours in the harness before, I can’t complain at all about that.
