The New Wild Things Guide Light Pack we wrote about awhile back is now in stock now at O P Tactical.
This is a minimalist waterproof fabric pack with the features you need and nothing else for a streamlined and ultra-light package made to withstand multiple deployments. It’s not on Wild Thing’s website yet, so check it out at O P Tactical now.

o – o Wish I had known about this before I emptied out my savings.
Thanks for letting us borrow pics SSD, I am redoing the pics this weekend. If there are any suggestions on details people would like to see just post them.

Jon,
Looks like a nifty little pack. Wouldn’t mind seeing it loaded out and on a human being. Also interior shot empty.
Thanks!
Posting to our Facebook acct. Product pics will be updated later.

Are there any attachment points inside the pack?
I have one right now, and no, just a zipper opening section for the foam sheet, and a conspicuously hidden hydro opening. If I were to throw my source bladder in here I would pull the cinch cord through the hydro port and hook in on that. This pack defines bare bones, the construction is very solid.

I guess one could use this on a longer expidition as a dry bag inside a “real” pack or in something like a MR crewcab. Lots of options
I think as an overnight type sustainment bag for clothes, bedding, food, etc. to throw on a vehicle it works well, that’s how I would have used it if I had it on OEF.
It’s a better musette bag.
True, it would also make a great ultra light jungle pack given it wasn’t carrying excessive ammo or water.

A little MOLLE will fix that righ- *Shot*
I don’t think it would hurt to throw three columns by five or less rows of webbing jus on the sides. Added weight yes, but if your used BFG HW pouches on it the added overall weight would be very minute. Regardless, the standalone item is a great minimalist design, having done extensive research on these packs for an upcoming long range hike.

That sounds like about the perfect use. I used a Woodland Eagle Raid pack about 10 years ago when I was over there. This would have been a much nicer companion. Not to say the Raid was bad, this one would have just made more sense for that use.
No sternum strap?
None, nor shoulder webbing. Pics on my site are of an in hand product, above pics are of the proto.

A waterproof pack? Nope, a common one, it’s just SSD that got it wrong. On OPT’s page it’s stated that the *fabric* is waterproof to 200psi. That’s a world of difference to the amphibious of us.
I didn’t catch that, this is definitely not a dry bag or waterproof bag. Good catch, appreciate it.
