Roguepak – Cartridge Hydration Systems

4-3sizes

Roguepak is a hydration system which utilizes a disposable hydration cartridge. The cartridges are made of a strong polyethelene, and feature a self-sealing wide mouth fast fill port which is sized to also allow for ice. Because the cartridges are disposable, it also reduces the need to maintain and clean a bladder as is required with traditional hydration systems.

The hydration cartridges comes in 50 oz., 70 oz., and 100 oz. sizes.

Are these ever reusable? Ditching every used bladder seems make no sense to me.

  2. Bryan says:

Wait… you’re telling me I’m supposed to be cleaning my Camelbak bladders!?

  3. T says:

So there’s not an on/off valve at the mouthpiece? That isn’t good during major altitude changes. How is it faster to fill one of these than a regular Camelbak, even with the “self seal port”? It costs 25 bucks for four disposable 100 oz. cartridges, but for only 10 bucks more you can get the equivalent Camelbak bladder that will last for as long as it remains unpunctured. Cleaning is a hassle? I stuff paper towels in mine to soak up the water after I’m done using it, and it works just fine/never made me sick/doesn’t taste funny. They sure don’t need cleaning after every use either. Anti micro bacterial for a reason. This seems like a pricey solution where there is no problem.

  4. Common Sense says:

This seems unbelievable wasteful. We have enough disposable products in the world.

  5. Ronnie says:

It’s reusable, recyclable and made in USA. I guess I am the only person that drinks other things than water in a hydration pack.

  6. Dean says:

Looks cool to me. I try to support American made products when I can, plus I have gotten sick with a dirty camelbak.

  7. Austin says:

Didn’t Hydrapak already solve the cleaning issue? Every bladder I own of theirs can be turned inside out for cleaning/drying and they are all dish washer safe.

Merica! just suck it and chuck it, WEW!!

    hahaha… aaahhh.

  9. Terry says:

I was a fan of Camelbak, until I made the transition to Source. Easy to clean, durable and the hose doesn’t leak.

      +100.

I agree, they have worked well for me.

Geigerrig is also supposed to be a good option.

Even with a Camelbak, the cleaning tabs that Camelbak makes have kept mine clean. I also avoid sugar in them most of the time, and if not I actually clean them.

Guess it’s an OK idea if you need to pre-bag your H2O.. Can’t help recalling the amount of empty plastic water bottles(whole, in pieces, etc) I’ve seen in both Sandboxes – and NOT in garbage bins.. Ugh.
However, if RoguePak sells these “Cartridge Hydration Systems” with a postage paid envelope to ship the disposed-of cartridges back – I’m all for it.
