Manufacturer to Showcase Trijicon MRO™ Compatible Mount
Temecula, CA – Global Defense Initiatives (GDI), manufacturers of mount interface devices for use with optical, laser aiming, illumination, night vision and thermal imaging systems, will be unveiling their latest line of optic mounts at the 2016 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, NV; featuring the line of Trijicon MRO™ Compatible Mounts, the MSM-Series.
The new MSM-Series of mounts were designed specifically to work with the Trijicon MRO™, a sealed miniature reflex sight intended for use on rifles, carbines and shotguns to provide fast target acquisition. Named Guns & Ammo’s, Optic of the Year, the MRO’s large aperture and tapered light path maximizes the viewing area, allows for better situational awareness and fast target engagement – especially from non-standard shooting positions.
GDI worked extensively to ensure the new MSM-Series of mounts, which include: the MS6-OSM™ (Lower 1/3 Co-Witness Sight Mount) and MS5-OSM™ (Absolute Co-Witness Sight Mount) for Gas Impingement Systems; MS3-OSM™ (Lower 1/3 Co-Witness Sight Mount) for HK Type Gas Piston Systems; and the MS1-OSM™ (Low Profile Mounting). Each mount offers a distinct capability to shooters of all capacities.
GDI’s ruggedized mounts are designed to improve accuracy and marksmanship in the harshest field use and environmental settings. In serving those who serve, GDI has earned a reputation in the defense community by building optic mounts that exceed military specifications through their precision engineering, manufacturing, and quality craftsmanship standards. As GDI is now offering these combat proven products to all shooting sports enthusiasts, the MSM-Series of mounts can be used and appreciated by shooters in all arenas.
“We at GDI, approach every new product as a personal mission, to develop a solution to shooters that would not only improve the functionality and reliability of the optical sight mount, but optimize its capability to increase accuracy,” stated GDI Founder and CEO, Marco Gonzalez. “The development of the MSM-Series was a no-brainer, as Trijicon has not only positioned itself as a company with integrity and reliable products, but a shared work ethic and drive to produce something even the most elite of warriors trust.”
Today, the focus of GDI is to provide the shooting industry as a whole with mounting solutions that not only meet the respective needs of the military and law enforcement operational communities, but to include shooting sports enthusiasts within the recreational, hunting, and competition areas.

Good mounts but too expensive!
Ok, I’ll bite. Why are they too expensive?
I’m sure it’s high quality, but I’m not convinced the $215 asking price is worth it. I guess I’d need some direct comparisons of this mount versus others before the price was worth it in my mind.
Obviously people shouldn’t – and for good reason – care if a mount is expensive if it’s going to provide them with the dependability needed to make it through harsh conditions. Are there any sources that do good, direct comparisons of mounts?
Well, looking at their lineup I have no doubt they are well engineered and bombproof. My only experience with GDI was a RCOM-E on an issued RCO. Much better design than LaRue in my non mechanical engineer background.
Comparing the price of the RCOM-E to similar products from the competition, they definitely cost the most.
http://www.gdiengineering.com/store/products/r-com-e-model.html $215
http://www.bobroengineering.com/view/product/6/ $145.95
http://www.larue.com/larue-tactical-acog-mount-qd-lt-100 $135

If GDI is better than the others then I would pay the extra $ but so far Bobro and ADM have been great to me, no longer own any LaRue mounts.
