A lookbook??? How very high-fashion of them. Going after the GQ market it appears…

Actually, the “tactical” business is the odd man out on lookbooks and this isn’t Beyond’s first one, so it seems you area new customer.

    • FOXTAC says:

The “lookbook” name does sound really fashion-y and is perhaps not well adapted to “function-based” equipment… But the concept still quite applies; a function-based “lookbook” will pitch kits that go together, such as:
      – a kit for high-intensity activity in temperate AOs (softshell outer layer, moisture-wicking baselayer)
      – a kit for static activity in cold weather
      – a kit for an urban assaulter

Etc.. it just suggests items that go well together for a set of actions.

Remember too that Beyond is not just a “tactical” garment manufacturer. They make stuff for civilians as well. REALLY good stuff. “Lookbook” is really just contemporary terminology. In the design field we’ve used it for years in different ways- the main one being a “look” at what’s coming out next, but not quite ready for the catalog or website. Lookbooks tend to be for the industry, so it fits in perfectly with the SSD model.

JenNix probably gets upset when he found out that uniform tops are called blouses as well.
