So Joe the Plumber won’t be able to get a copy?

    • Joe says:

Like all magazines this will only turn into who can pay the most to be featured. I have my doubts that the little guy will ever get any attention or fair coverage.

  2. Chris K. says:

Do you need to register for this?

SSD, this concept looks pretty exciting.

Do you know what parameters will be used to onboard companies? For example, if an entrepreneur is looking to prototype a design will this be a good resource to find companies to work with?

I can’t wait! Bring it on!!!!!

I’m surprised as I thought magazines or even digital magazines were dead especially with the way information travels via social media and blog sites like this one. Curating articles can take weeks and by the time they are printed, there is already new gear out.

This is the exact reason I don’t purchase Recoil, Off-grid or any of those hip gun magazines. Not to mention they are loaded with ads and biased articles (paid for by the sponsors of those articles they are about).

I wonder since this magazine is 100% free how you will generate revenue? Ads? Paid articles? Biased reviews?

You won’t be able to buy this magazine, so I guess your concerns are mute. However, their business model is quite sound, particularly in Europe, where there are dozens of print magazines that distribute directly to government.

  6. Chris says:

Are they going to have a webified version for us gear geeks?
