SSD Saturday Night At The Movies Presents “Go Tell The Spartans”

This movie should need no introduction for fans of Vietnam-genre war movies. Starring Burt Lancaster, “Go Tell The Spartans” is based on former war correspondent Daniel Ford’s novel “Incident at Muc Wa” about a Special Forces Detachment in the Central Highlands of Vietnam.

One of my top ten favorite Movies.

Also, a very good representation of early-war SF/Advisor uniforms and patches (yeah,I collect that stuff)

Thanks for this. Made my night. Haven’t seen in quite awhile.

I have that on VCR cassette, somewhere…

The story Lancaster tells about why he’s not a General is one of the best scenes, ever, IMO. Has such a military legend feel to it, so genuine. His mannerisms and timing in telling it are proof of acting greatness.
