SIG MMG 338 Program Series

Crickett Precision Rifle

The Crickett Precision Rifle is absolutely the coolest thing I saw at last week’s Great American Outdoor Show. The Crickett Precision Rifle is a great scaled down, little brother to an AI chassis precision rifle.

PRS recently began a youth program called PRS Kidz and still others are organizing Rimfire Practical Rifle events. You’ll want one for your son or daughter and you’ll want one for yourself. I’ll give you all of the stats but you’ll want to buy it for one reason alone; its looks. The price isn’t bad either.

My son’s getting this. Not for right now (he’s too young), but for when he eventually learns to shoot (among many many other things).

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”

Before I read the article, I thought this was a drop in chassis for a Cricket then I wondered if they offered one for a Rascal.

    Cricketinny rail! Love it!

Is the Crickett usable for adults?
It looks like great fun on a saturday with the guys and a bunch of beers…

I use a reg. cricket running trap lines, its tiny, short, and light with short LOP, but usable for adults. Then again Im not trying to shoot one ragged hole with it either.

Looks very nice, and definitely an attractive price. That said, I do find it funny that this is patterned after an AI which is patterned after Anschutz .22 rifles.
